What Is Plasma Elite / Surgical Skin Tightening?

Plasma Elite is a revolutionary and non-invasive non-surgical procedure, utilising the skin’s natural plasma and generated electricity to reduce and remove excess skin, wrinkles and lines on the face and neck.

A sequence of brown spots are placed on the skin and a dedicated hand-piece creates a minute charge of ‘plasmatic lightning’, which evaporates off the skin and causes the skin to contract, due to increased collagen production. This tightens the skin, and the brown spots help to pull skin cells together, leaving behind a refreshed look.

Who Is Suitable for Plasma Elite?

A person’s appearance depends on several factors. These include:

    • Family History.
    • Body Weight.
    • Your Lifestyle.

Adults with loose skin, wrinkles and lines on the face and neck, such as:

    • Hooded Eyelids.
    • Deep Eye Bags.
    • Smoker’s Lines.
    • Necklace Lines.
    • Crow’s Feet.

Sagging skin and wrinkles can cause further issues too. These include:

    • Embarrassment and the felt need to hide under clothes.
    • Self-consciousness and a reduction in self-esteem.
    • Social avoidance due to feeling aged.

Therefore, adults may seek to reduce these issues through Plasma Elite.

    Plasma Elite Treatment

    Initial Consultation and Assessment

Before getting treated, we will set an initial meeting with our doctor who will assess your skin and understand your goals from the procedure.

They will look at your skin elasticity, depth of wrinkles, and other specific skin concerns. If you have very sensitive skin, they may do a patch test to see if the treatment will really work for you.

This meeting will also highlight the best results that can be obtained for your skin through this procedure and the pricing (scroll down to the bottom) for it.

    During the Plasma Elite Treatment

On the day of treatment, skin will be thoroughly cleaned to remove any layer of makeup, dust or oil.

A numbing cream will be used to make sure you feel minimal pain and discomfort.

The doctor will mark the treatment area to make the application very precise.

The plasma elite pen uses plasma energy to activate collagen production in the skin. As the process begins, the plasma pen will be hovered just above the skin surface (not physically touching it) to release a high frequency electric charge to create micro injuries in the skin. This will trigger new collagen and elastic production in the skin.

This procedure takes about 30-60 minutes depending on the areas to be treated.

    After the Plasma Elite Procedure

You will notice mild redness and tiny crusts on skin after the procedure. these carbon crusts will fall off naturally within a few days after the treatment.

You may also feel mild burning sensation on the skin similar to a sun burn.

Over the next couple of weeks, the skin will heal and tighten. This will reduce the appearance of wrinkles, pigmentation or sagging.

    Benefits of Plasma Elite

Plasma elite is a non-surgical minimally invasive process that offers many benefits like:

Natural skin tightening: The procedure is very efficient in tightening skin around jaws, eyelids, neck and hands.

Reduce wrinkles and fine lines: It helps in reducing fine lines, wrinkles, crow feet and forehead wrinkles.

Targets multiple skin concerns: It helps in treating drooping undereye skin (non-surgical alternate for Blepharoplasty), fade acne scars. pigmentation, uneven skin texture, age spots.

Minimally invasive and quick: Plasma elite does not involve any cute, stiches and just takes 30-60 minutes.

Minimal downtime: The carbon crusts will fall off within few days and skin will start looking firmer. Most people can resume their daily activities within 5-7 days.

Long-lasting results in less cost: On an average, results can last for 2-3 years (depending on lifestyle and skincare) and is cheaper than other surgical treatments, like, facelift, eye bag surgery.

    Plasma Elite Aftercare

After the treatment, expect redness, swelling and carbon spots on the treated areas. This can last for first 2-3 days before fading. It is advised to not touch or pick the crusts as it may cause infections or scarring. They naturally fall off within 5 -7 days.

Avoid washing the treated area for one day after the treatment. Use gentle facewash recommended by the doctor. All skincare products that you use should be discussed with doctors to know the ones that should be avoided for next couple of days. This could include actives, like, retinol, AHAs, BHAs.

When you start cleaning the face after 24 hours, avoid rubbing or scrubbing the skin. Use a healing ointment/gentle moisturiser prescribed by the doctor.

It is very important to avoid excess sun exposure and use a high protection sunscreen (at least SPF 30).

Avoid wearing makeup until the carbon crusts fall off. It can lead to skin allergies and infections. use non-fragrant, mild products.

Avoid vigorous workout as sweating can cause bacterial infection on the skin.

Have gut friendly food that are easy to digest. Fruits and plenty of water can help keep your skin hydrated for faster healing.

If you notice persistent swelling or any allergic reaction on the skin, we advise consulting our doctors for a quick follow up meeting.

    Side Effects of Plasma Elite

    Redness and Swelling

You may experience some redness and swelling after the treatment but this should fade away within 3-4 days. It can be more common around thin skin areas, like, eyelids.

    Carbon Crusts on Skin

The treated areas will have carbon crusts (small brown or black dots) on the skin surface and will flake off naturally within 5-7 days.

    Burning Sensation

It’s common to experience mild burning sensation on the skin for -23 days after the treatment. This should naturally fade away without causing any extreme effect.

    Tight and Dry Skin

As the skin turns flaky,  it’s common to feel a stretch and tightness. This should reduce as the skin heals and the crusts fall off. A healing ointment can help soothe the feeling.

    Temporary Hyperpigmentation

Some patients may observe extra dark patches on the skin for couple of days. These are the treated areas that are healing from the plasma elite rays.

All these side effects are temporary it is very less likely to experience any long term effects.

    Plasma Elite VS Botox

Plasma elite and botox are easy to confuse with each other as both are non-surgical anti-ageing treatments but they differ in many ways.

Method: Plasma elite uses plasma pen that releases plasma energy without actually touching the skin. On the other hand, botox directly injects botulinum toxin to relax muscle movement and reduce wrinkles.

Address different skin concerns: Plasma elite works best for those who have saggy skin, fine lines, scars, and want an overall skin rejuvenation. Botox, on the other hand, are mainly for dynamic wrinkles (crowfeet, forehead lines, smile lines).

Results: Plasma pen results last long for about 2-3 years while botox usually lasts for 3-6 months.

Invasion: Plasma elite is minimally invasive while botox does not involve any invasion at all.

Pain level: Plasma elite can cause mild to moderate pain depending on your pain tolerance while botox involves minimal pain.

Side effects: Plasma elite involves some temporary skin redness, swelling, crusts, dark patches. Botox involves less redness or swelling.

Should You Combine Plasma Elite and Botox?

YES! Many people opt for both the methods as they compliment each other.

Plasma elite can help improve your skin texture and firmness while botox can smooth out the wrinkles and fine lines.

However, we suggest consulting one of our doctors to know what will address your skin concerns the best.
